Friday Greetings,

On Tuesday evening, Clay County updated its public health emergency order.  The Clay County public health emergency order applies to all of North Kansas City and will go into effect on Monday, Nov. 23.  The new order can be found at clayhealth.com/recovery.  Notable changes from Clay County’s previous order include:
o Venues serving food and/or drink indoors must operate at 50% capacity and close by 10 p.m. No groups of more than 10 people are allowed indoors or outdoors.
o Gyms, fitness, and recreational centers must also remain at 50% capacity or less and masks are required for everyone inside.
o Masks are now required outdoors when physical distancing (six feet) cannot be maintained by anyone outside your household.
o The age exemption for wearing a mask is lowered to those 5 years of age and younger.
o Indoor gatherings are limited to a maximum of 10 people. (Gatherings = groups of individuals, who are not members of the same household, congregated together for a common or coordinated social, community, or leisure purpose.)
o Gatherings of 10 or fewer are allowed, with use of physical distancing between members of different households.
o Prohibited gatherings do not include non-event-based regular commercial, nonprofit, or educational activity by workers, students, or customers of businesses.
o Exceptions for gatherings over 10 people can be approved by public health. A submission form is available at clayhealth.com.

North Kansas City has received the “Leading the Way Award” from ETC Institute!  Recipients of the award rank in the top 10% of all cities and counties in the United States with regard to their composite performance in three core areas that are assessed on the DirectionFinder Survey:
o Satisfaction with the overall quality of services
o Satisfaction with customer service provided by employees, and
o Satisfaction with the value residents think they receive for local taxes and fees.
Congratulations to the Mayor, the City Council, and all City employees for
this outstanding achievement!
