Friday Greetings,

In response to the recommendations made by the regional public health officers and directors and the extension of Kansas City, Missouri’s ‘Stay at Home’ Order – Mayor Stielow will extend the North Kansas City ‘Stay at Home’ Order to 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020.

This extension is based on estimates of the anticipated peak of infection in the Kansas City metro at the end of April, and mirrors the extension of the City of Kansas City's ‘Stay at Home’ Order.  The peak infection date in the metropolitan area may vary from statewide peaks in Kansas and Missouri.

Coordinated regional efforts are underway to determine how and when restrictions can be eased in the future.  North Kansas City officials are in constant communication with area public health experts to monitor conditions and inform future decisions.

Municipal Court has postponed/continued the May 4 and May 11 Municipal Court dockets to a later date.  Municipal Court customers can pay their court payments by mail, the drop box located at City Hall or online at https://www.municipalonlinepayments.com/northkansascitymo/court/search.

The North Kansas City Hospital is in need of cloth face masks. If you are interested in helping, you can find sewing instructions at nkch.org/donate. Please drop off donations with our valets at the Pavilion entrance of the hospital. Thank you for all you are doing for your community hospital – it is making a big difference! The CDC now recommends that everyone wear a face covering when out in public.

Due to the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and the Stay at Home Order, the Tuesday, April 21 City Council Work Session and Regular Meeting will be held virtually, with City Council members and City staff joining the meeting on an online platform.  The public will not be able to participate in the meeting as it is being held, but the public may view the meeting live on the City’s Cable Channel or YouTube channel, which can be found on the City’s website at www.nkc.org/live.

Anyone wishing to make a public comment for the record at the meeting may do so by sending an email to city@nkc.org until 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, and it will be read aloud at the meeting.  Please supply your name and address.

If your business would like to sign up for email updates and helpful COVID-19 financial relief information from the North Kansas City Business Council, please send an email message to richard@nkcbusinesscouncil.com.  Please provide your name, North Kansas City business or non-profit you are affiliated with, e-mail address and phone number (optional).
