City Council Emergency Policies & Procedures

City Council Authorizes Emergency Policies & Procedures
Posted on 03/17/2020
In response to the global Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, the City Council passed Ordinance #9296 providing policies and procedures during health and safety emergencies in North Kansas City.

Following the passage of this Ordinance, Mayor Stielow issued a Proclamation prohibiting all group activities of any gathering of 10 or more people in any restaurant, tavern, bar, professional, social, cultural, entertainment, or other special events where people are not separated by at least six feet in North Kansas City.  These restrictions are effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice.

The provisions in this Proclamation do not apply to governmental and judicial functions, healthcare facilities or private business operations.   Restaurants, bars, taverns, movie theaters, and clubs should only serve customers via drive-thru, pick-up or delivery.

If you are feeling sick and have reason to believe you have been exposed to COVID-19, please call your health care provider for instructions.  Do not go to the emergency room or the health department for testing.  The Clay County Health Center is providing up-to-date information on their website at https://www.clayhealth.com/279/COVID-19-2019-Novel-Coronavirus.    More questions about COVID-19? Call the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) hotline at 877-435-8411. The hotline is being operated by medical professionals and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
