This is in accordance with the provisions of the lease agreement the City entered into with the Promus Corporation stating in part that the governing body has the responsibility of designating the allocation of the monies before January 31, 2010, to any charitable organization which qualifies under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.  An additional lease requirement is that the monies provide services or other benefits to residents of North Kansas City.

The guidelines approved are as follows:  Application forms provided by the City must be completed (letters will not be accepted) and returned to City Hall from 8:00 a.m., November 6, 2009, through 5:00 p.m., December 11, 2009.  Applications that arrive before the beginning date and time or after the ending date and time will not be considered.  Applicants will not be notified if their applications are not received during the appropriate date and time specified.

Applications will be reviewed by the Mayor and City Council after December 11, 2009, and notification will be made after January 31, 2010, to those who have been selected for distribution of these monies.
