...trash disposal twice weekly, curbside recycling weekly, and disposal of leaves and yard waste periodically - all at no cost!  If you are a new resident, you might find the following information helpful:

Trash Disposal:

If you live west of Howell Street, your trash is picked up on Tuesdays and Fridays.  If you live east of Howell Street, your trash is picked up on Mondays and Thursdays.  Trash must be in trash bags or proper containers.

Dumpster services are available to residents for the disposal of debris and other forms of waste on a short-term basis.  The cost is $100 per dumpster load.  For more information, call NKC Hauling at (816)421-1014.

Recycling: 

Do your part to help our environment by reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfills.  Our trash haulers pick up recycling bins that are placed curbside every Wednesday - at no cost.  One free recycling bin per address is available at City Hall.  If needed, you may purchase additional tubs for $5.00 each.

Items excepted for recycling include:  newspapers, aluminum cans, plastic milk jugs and beverage bottles, plastic containers with at number 1 or 2 inside a triangle on the bottom (please remove and discard caps), corrugated cardboard boxes (should be broken down and flattened out).

Yard Waste:

Grass and yard waste is also picked up on Wednesdays, and at no cost.  Grass clippings, placed in trash containers or paper bags, are picked up curbside and disposed of at the City's compost site.  Plastic bags are not accepted.  The City offers paper bags at the discounted rate of .20 cents per bag, with a minimum purchase of 10 bags.
