Winter Water Bill Error

The City has been working on implementing a winter sewer averaging option for customers who would be interested in this option.  As part of preparing for implementation of this, an error occurred that caused the water and sewer utility bills dated May 29, 2020 for all 5/8 inch metered residential accounts to be incorrect. The sewer portion of the bill was based on an average consumption from November 2019 through April 2020, instead of actual consumption for the period of April 19, 2020 to May 19, 2020.

City Finance Department staff was made aware of the incorrect bill this week and has been working with the City’s utility billing software provider to provide corrected bills for all residential 5/8 inch metered accounts. The corrected bills are expected to be mailed before June 8, 2020. The affected bills will reflect sewer charges based on consumption from April 19 to May 19, and will reflect any payments processed before the corrected bill is mailed.
