Friday Greetings,

Boneanza was held last Saturday at Waggin’ Trail Dog Park in cooperation with the City of Kansas City, MO Parks & Recreation Department, which produced a video recap of the event – https://fb.watch/4BSAhouzvq/.  Special thanks to Fire Department personnel who assisted with the event: Captain Gary Loftis, Ben Bailey, Shawn Glen, and Aaron Daniel. 

On April 1 and 2, the University of Missouri of Fire Safety conducted a class at the NKC Fire Department to provide hands-on-skills training in fire ground operations and structural fire attack. Topics included Incident Command Structure (ICS), size-up, search and rescue, ventilation, forcible entry, and hose stream management.

As of 3/29/21, North Kansas City Fire Department personnel had vaccinated 3,679 people at Operation Safe.

Alita Sledz will return to the parks department as a Maintenance Worker on Monday, April 5.  Jonathan Martin will return to Distribution as a Maintenance Worker on Monday, April 19. James Maenhoudt will join Municipal Services as a Maintenance Worker on Monday, April 19.  Welcome aboard everyone!

The City of North Kansas City will hold a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. Polls will be open at the NKC YMCA from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Following is a list of candidates:

The Tuesday, April 6 City Council Regular Meeting will be rescheduled to Wednesday, April 7 as a City Council Special Meeting.  This change was requested by the City Council as a result of the Tuesday, April 6 Election. 

Operation Safe is vaccinating all eligible Missouri residents. We encourage everyone to complete the Operation Safe vaccination interest form at www.operation-safe.com/signup Please be sure to provide your primary phone number and email address on the interest form.

Help for families struggling financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic is available through a new program launched by Clay County, MO. The Emergency Rental Assistance Program can help families who rent their homes get caught up on past due rent and utility bills.  If you are eligible, make sure to fill out an interest form by clicking the button on our Rental Assistance Portal, which can be found here: https://www.claycountymo.gov/transparency/erap
