Friday Greetings,

The City’s Management Team conducted orientations with Councilmembers-elect Wes Graves, Adam Roberts, and Ana Pellumbi this week.  Current Councilmember Amie Clarke also attended.  The newly elected City Councilmembers will take their Oaths of Office and be seated as the new City Council on Tuesday, April 20 at 7 p.m.

Letters regarding the City’s Winter Sewer Averaging program were sent to residents this week. Eligible residents may arrange for their sewer bills to match average consumption from December through February. The program is not available to residents of multi-family housing.  Residents interested in this option should return the form to City Hall by Friday, May 7, or email it to WaterBillingGroup@nkc.org

On Saturday, April 17, Sergeant Justin Holm will graduate from the Missouri Police Chiefs Association’s Command College.  This intensive six-week program is designed to prepare future leaders of police departments across the state.  Sgt. Holm will be the fourth member of the North Kansas City police department to complete this program.

The City is currently seeking applications for the North Kansas City Hospital Board of Trustees.  To learn more about this Board, please visit ww.nkc.org/government/boards_and_commissions and click on the Boards and Commissions Handbook.  The Boards and Commissions Application Form can be found on this webpage.  For questions regarding the boards, please contact City Clerk Crystal Doss at (816) 412-7815.

On Tuesday, May 25, the City Council will hold a virtual Special Council Meeting to discuss the City’s current development process.  This meeting will be live streamed on the City’s Spectrum Cable Channel 2, the City’s YouTube Channel and on www.nkc.com/live.  Public comment will not be taken during the virtual Special Council Meeting, but residents, business owners, and other stakeholders are invited to review the City Council Work Session videos on the City’s Master Plan and development process and provide feedback regarding the future of the City’s development process.  To access the City Council Work Session videos focusing on the City’s Master Plan and development process, and to provide feedback for City Council review, please visit www.nkc.org/ED.
