Friday Greetings,

The City is conducting an East//West Connection Study to determine how to provide a safe crossing on foot or by bike under I-35 on Armour Road for NKC residents, employees, and visitors. Please complete the online survey (https://forms.office.com/r/5cxLkz4JFE) to share your thoughts and opinions. Your responses will help shape the future of Armour Road with safety and accessibility at the forefront. For more information about this study, visit the project website at http://www.nkc.org/departments/community_development/east___west_connection.

Emergency repairs for a collapsing storm drain along Armour Road will begin next week. Recently staff discovered that the storm drain between the NKC YMCA and Tay’s Burger Shack has been in the process of collapsing for several years and requires urgent repairs as the roadway continues to deteriorate. Crews will begin traffic control measures on Wednesday, September 29 along Armour Road.  These repairs are scheduled to take 2-3 weeks to complete – depending on weather and supply chain conditions. The bus stop on eastbound Armour Road at Knox Street will be relocated to the west of the construction.  Traffic lanes will not be affected by this project, on-street parking lanes will be closed and crews will delineate the bike lane.

On Wednesday, September 29 at 6 p.m., the KC Symphony will host a free concert in the North Kansas City Hospital’s Medical Plaza parking lot.

The Police Department is finalizing details to co-host an event with the First Baptist Church of North Kansas City during the second annual National Faith & Blue weekend.  The event will take place on Saturday, October 9, 2021, more details soon.
