Greetings,
·
Earlier
this week, Community Development staff met with a field representative from the
Insurance Services Office (ISO) for an evaluation. This evaluation is done
every four years to grade the effectiveness of building code enforcement. The
result is a numeric classification that is used in underwriting for property
insurance in NKC. While it will be several weeks before we receive our score,
the field representative indicated that we should see our score for code
enforcement improve quite a bit over our score from four years ago.
·
City
staff submitted an application last week to MARC’s Planning Sustainable Places
grant program to help fund a new NKC Bike Master Plan. MARC has opened up a
public comment period for all the grant applications, and a strong show of
supportive comments is very helpful in the evaluation process. Residents and
businesses can go online to our project summary at http://www.marc2.org/tr_psp/projectdetails.aspx?PID=769
and leave a short comment in the form at the bottom on the page. The deadline
for comments is July 6.
