Week in Review 3/16/18
Posted on 03/16/2018
Friday Greetings,

We would like to welcome three new firefighters to North Kansas City: Jacob Long, Brooks Narvaez and Nathanial Pike.  All three firefighters started on Monday, March 12 – welcome aboard!

Community Development has issued a demolition permit for 1005 24th Avenue, where a fire occurred just before Christmas. The demolition will remove the remains of the house, but will leave the garage on the property standing.

The North Kansas City Police Department reported that there were no arrests on Snake Saturday. Thanks to everyone who came & enjoyed the day responsibly!

City staff recently conducted a drone flyover of the One North Development site.  To see a video of the flyover, visit https://goo.gl/XCqCkF

Beyond The Loop: the Broadway/O’Neil Bridge will need to be rehabilitated or replaced in the coming years and several options have emerged for a re-imagined North Loop in the context of a reconfigured river crossing. Public input on the changing needs of the region has informed an initial series of strategies, but more input is needed as the planning team moves forward. Join us at an Open House that will preview some of the potential options to cross the river, connect our communities, and accommodate our future needs. To RSVP or for more information, visit http://www.beyondtheloopkc.com/event/.  The Open House meetings will be:
o Wednesday, May 21, 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), Board Room, 600 Broadway, Suite 200, Kansas City, MO 64105
